The Rule of 7
We at Southern Utah Goldens have adapted The Rule of 7's by Carmen Battaglia to increase a puppy’s exposure
We use the Rule of 7 introducing our puppies to as many sounds, people, environments, and surfaces as we can. This method encouraged socialization through experiences that are kept safe and positive. This training does not need to be exact, but rather completed with simple exposures in a supervised environment while they are young.
We are genuinely invested in our puppies and their future success. We understand how critical each and every moment of a puppies life is and so we make sure to set aside quality time for meaningful daily encounters. We consider this time to be both creative and playful, allowing the puppy's personality to develop.
While the puppies are in our care we do the following and encourage our owners to carry on with the following exposures:
Each new and positive experience will help your puppy flourish into a confident companion. We provide as much information to caretakers on the Rule of 7 and also encourage you to allow your puppy to learn passively. In the early stages it is important to allow your puppies to explore on their own, but we make sure they are completely supervised and in a controlled environment during those times.
We work with your puppies from the moment they are born and as a result they are loving, loyal, and courageous. We have been raising puppies for 14 wonderful years and we believe that by using the Rule of 7, we have helped boost each puppies confidence, social behavior, and ability to be well trained.
